Together with Queen Maxima, we are committed to helping young people with disabilities

QUEEN MÁXIMA IS ON A WORKING VISIT TO EMMA AT WORK

On Tuesday morning 14 February, Queen Máxima paid a working visit to non-profit organisation Emma at Work in Amsterdam. We had the honour of attending. The visit took place at the Emma Children’s Hospital/AMC, where Emma at Work originated 10 years ago. During the visit, Queen Máxima spoke with young people with a chronic illness or physical disability who found a job through Emma at Work and with (their) employers. Emma at Work guides young people aged 15 and over towards an independent future by supporting them in their development and mediating their way into work.

About Emma at Work

Emma at Work, founded in 2006 at Emma Children’s Hospital/AMC, guides young people aged 15 and over with a chronic illness or physical disability towards an independent future. It is important for these young people to gain work experience from an early age in order to increase their chances of a (financially) independent future. Emma at Work mediates these young people into work in the form of part-time, holiday or permanent jobs.

Emma at Work & Fruitful Office

Ever since Fruitful Office was founded, we have been working with young people placed with us through Emma at Work. These young people work with us in production and help out during fruit quality control. Thanks to our clients, we have already been able to help more than 10 young people with a chronic illness or physical disability find a job!
